Hands To Work

Sigh...It's official.

I'm a middle aged mom.  I broke down and bought a bathing suit that has a *gasp* skirt on the bottom.  I swore I would never ever wear one.  I'm turning into my mother!

Retreat news...I have three spaces left.  I heard from Alma yesterday and she hopes to get a picture to me soon.  I'm going to work on the pictures that Maggie sent and see if I can make them a little easier to see.  It's hard to believe that the event is just a month away! 

I've been putting together baby furniture for the last few days and am weary of screwing a million itty bitty hard to hold on to screws into the backs of the pieces.  I should be done today and we will be arranging the room and putting away clothes.  If Lily pops out a Leonard, we are going to be very busy changing out colors and clothes and such.  Elisabeth continues to be healthy and looks fantastic.  She has gained about 12 pounds.  How is that possible?  I gained fifty with each baby!

that the money for the bracelet class should be to me by September 15th as well.  And the colors that are available will be pinks, greens, blues, purples, and greys.  When you email me to sign up for the class...please let me know your color preference.

We got rain today!  My grass said "Ahhhhhhh".

More Bracelet Information

Hi All,

I am waiting to hear from Liz regarding the bracelet class.  What I have tentatively scheduled is for the class to be held on Friday evening in the conference room.  We all will be in there together with the jewelry makers seated together.  So no one will miss anything!  I will have the boutique open and there will be snacks and drinks. 

I will have to get back to you regarding how soon payment should be sent.  The balance of the retreat will be due September 15th. 

October is getting close!  I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone!

A Retreat Extra!

I am offering a special class this year for anyone that is interested.  Liz Mathews, Kathy Barrick-Dieter's awesome daughter, is teaching a class where the participants will make their own semi-precious stone, sterling silver bracelet.  The cost of the class is $70 and will include the bracelet, tools and stones needed to finish your masterpiece.  If you want to add additional stones and/or charms, Liz will have those available for purchase.  Below are several pictures of finished bracelets.  The first two show an example with the amount of stones that are included.  Please note that Liz will have many different colors and shapes available. 

The next set of pictures is of a bracelet with additional stones added.  This is a much heavier bracelet. 

I was lucky enough to have Liz teach me to make a bracelet last year and I love it.  It's my Sexy Mama Bracelet!  Who doesn't feel fabulous with a cool piece of jewelry on?!!!

Please email me asap if you want to take this class.  Liz needs to purchase all of the supplies and it will take her some time to pick out an assortment of stone. 

Things are coming together for the retreat and we will be gathering together very soon!

Kathy's retreat project is this fabulous stocking called A Virtuous Woman.  The linen and threads will be provided. 

Maggie Bonanomi's project is this amazing pocket.  Again, all materials will be provided.  Basic sewing supplies should be brought to the retreat.    Sorry this picture is backwards.  I couldn't figure out how to fix it.  But it is late so that is my excuse!!!

Barb and Alma are putting the final touches on their projects and will send pictures very soon.

Twenty~Seven Years

That's how long I have now been married.  Twenty seven years.  Wow.  That's a long, long time.  And I give all the credit to my husband.  I know I'm not easy to live with.  We don't have many pictures of us together since I'm usually behind the camera.  This is a favorite of mine from a beach trip a few years back.

Unfortunatley, Chuck and I didn't get to celebrate our anniversary so we are going to spend the weekend doing fun things.  We will probably go get coffee early Saturday morning and then head to the farmers market.  I haven't cooked fresh green beans this year and am really craving them!  What I'm most excited to do is go see The Bourne Ultimatum.  The first two movies in the series were so good and I've heard that I won't be disappointed in the third.  Lucky for Chuck that I don't like girly movies and would much rather see a thriller action movie any day!  And the best gift he can get for me is a gift certificate from Lowes.  Lucky, lucky man!!!
